Usher Raymond IV is an American R&B singer, songwriter, dancer and actor from Chattanooga, Tennessee. He rose to fame in the mid-1990s with his second album My Way and its hit single “You Make Me Wanna…”. Usher’s smooth tenor, intricate choreography and crossover appeal defined late-90s and 2000s R&B. His 2004 album Confessions became one of the decade’s biggest sellers, spawning four Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles. Subsequent releases such as Here I Stand and Raymond v. Raymond kept him at the top of the charts while he collaborated with producers like Jermaine Dupri, The Neptunes and Zaytoven. Beyond music he has acted in films and served as a coach on The Voice. He remains one of the best-selling R&B artists of all time.
