Wyclef Jean

Wyclef Jean is a Haitian-American rapper, singer, and producer born in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti and raised in New Jersey. He rose to fame in the early 1990s as a founding member of the Fugees alongside Lauryn Hill and Pras Michel. Their 1996 album The Score became a global hit, blending hip-hop, reggae, and soul. As a solo artist he released multi-platinum albums such as The Carnival (1997) and Ecleftic: 2 Sides II a Book (2000), scoring hits like “Gone Till November” and “911.” Jean is known for fusing hip-hop with Caribbean, Latin, and jazz influences and has collaborated with artists across genres. He has also produced for other acts and engaged in humanitarian work through his Yéle Haiti foundation.
