Bio

Ian Bostridge is an English tenor born in London on Christmas Day 1964. He first trained as a historian, completing a doctorate at Oxford before turning to a full-time singing career in the early 1990s. He is widely admired for his performances of art song, especially the works of Schubert, Schumann, and Britten, as well as for his contributions to Baroque and contemporary opera. Bostridge has appeared at leading opera houses and concert halls worldwide and has recorded extensively for Warner Classics.
