Richard Marlow

Richard Marlow (1939–2013) was an English choral conductor and organist whose career was centred on Cambridge. He served as Director of Music at Trinity College from 1968 until his retirement in 2006, during which time he raised the profile of the college choir through numerous recordings and international tours. A specialist in early English and Renaissance polyphony as well as Gregorian chant, Marlow prepared scholarly editions and led performances that were noted for their clarity and precision. His discography includes recordings of Taverner, Tallis, Byrd and Howells, many of which remain reference interpretations in the choral repertoire.
