Bio

The Choir of New College, Oxford is one of the oldest and most distinguished choral foundations in the world, tracing its origins to the college’s foundation in 1379. It comprises the boy choristers of New College School together with adult lay clerks, performing the daily choral services of the college chapel and maintaining a centuries-old tradition of Anglican church music. Under a succession of directors of music the choir has become internationally recognised for its performances of Renaissance polyphony and later English cathedral repertoire. It tours regularly, records extensively for labels such as Decca and Novum, and appears at festivals worldwide while continuing to sing for the college’s worship throughout the academic year.
