Raphaël Pichon is a French conductor and counter-tenor born in Paris in 1984. He is recognized for his work in baroque, early music, and choral repertoire, leading performances of both operatic and concert works from the Renaissance through the Classical period. He founded the ensemble Pygmalion, which has become known for historically informed performances of French baroque music and other early repertoire. Pichon appears regularly as a guest conductor with orchestras and opera companies across Europe, combining his background as a counter-tenor with his skills on the podium.
