Bio

The Hallé is a British symphony orchestra based in Manchester, founded in 1858 by the German-born conductor Charles Hallé. It is the oldest professional symphony orchestra in the United Kingdom still in existence. The ensemble is renowned for its performances of the core classical and romantic repertoire, as well as for championing British music and contemporary works.
