Bio

Antoine Tamestit is a French violist born in 1979. He studied at the Paris Conservatoire and the Juilliard School, later becoming a professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Tamestit is known for his performances of both classical and contemporary repertoire, including works written for him by composers such as Jörg Widmann and Bruno Mantovani. He appears regularly as a soloist with major orchestras and as a chamber musician with ensembles including the Ébène Quartet.
