Bio
Antonello Manacorda is an Italian violinist and conductor born in Turin in 1970. He studied violin at the Turin Conservatory and later pursued conducting studies in Vienna and Amsterdam, establishing himself as a versatile musician equally at home in both roles. As a conductor, Manacorda has led orchestras across Europe, including the Kammerakademie Potsdam, where he served as artistic director, and has appeared as a guest conductor with ensembles such as the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI. His repertoire spans from the Baroque to contemporary works, with a particular affinity for the Classical and Romantic periods. Manacorda maintains an active recording career, with releases on labels including Sony Classical and Deutsche Grammophon, and continues to perform internationally as both violinist and conductor.
