Bio

A Tribe Called Quest was an influential American hip hop group formed in Queens, New York in 1985. The group consisted of rapper/producer Q-Tip, rapper Phife Dawg, DJ/producer Ali Shaheed Muhammad, and rapper Jarobi White. They are widely regarded as pioneers of alternative hip hop and jazz rap, blending jazz samples with socially conscious lyrics and innovative production techniques. The group released five studio albums between 1990 and 1998, with their 1991 album The Low End Theory being particularly acclaimed for its sophisticated jazz-influenced sound and lyrical content. After disbanding in 1998, they reunited for a final album, We Got It from Here... Thank You 4 Your Service, released in 2016 following Phife Dawg's death earlier that year.
