Bio
Yoko Shimomura is a Japanese composer and pianist best known for her work on video game soundtracks. Born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1967, she studied piano from an early age and graduated from the Osaka College of Music. After joining Capcom in 1988, she contributed to numerous titles including Street Fighter II, Final Fight, and Super Mario RPG. In 1998 she moved to Square (later Square Enix), where she composed for the Kingdom Hearts series, Parasite Eve, and Final Fantasy XV. Her style blends orchestral, rock, and electronic elements, and her music has been featured in live concerts worldwide.
