Bio
Pierre-Laurent Aimard is a French pianist born in Lyon in 1957. He is recognized for his performances of contemporary classical music and for his interpretations of the works of composers such as Olivier Messiaen, Pierre Boulez, and Karlheinz Stockhausen. Aimard studied at the Paris Conservatoire and later with Yvonne Loriod. He has performed with major orchestras worldwide and has recorded extensively for labels including Deutsche Grammophon and Warner Classics. In addition to his concert career, Aimard has served as a professor at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne and has been involved in educational initiatives promoting new music.
