Bio
Leopold Koželuch was a Czech composer, pianist, and music teacher active in the late Classical period. Born in Velvary in 1747, he studied in Prague before moving to Vienna, where he became a prominent figure in the city’s musical life. He composed extensively for the piano, producing numerous sonatas, concertos, and chamber works that were widely published and performed across Europe during his lifetime. Koželuch also served as a court composer and music teacher to the Austrian imperial family. His output includes symphonies, ballets, and vocal music, though his keyboard compositions remain his most enduring contribution. He died in Vienna in 1818.
