Bio
Giovanni Antonini is an Italian conductor and flautist born in Milan in 1965. He is widely recognized for his expertise in historically informed performance of Baroque and Classical repertoire. As co-founder and artistic director of the ensemble Il Giardino Armonico, Antonini has led numerous acclaimed recordings of works by Vivaldi, Bach, and Haydn. His interpretations are noted for their rhythmic vitality and attention to period performance practice. Antonini regularly appears as a guest conductor with major orchestras across Europe and North America, and he has also performed as a solo flautist on both modern and historical instruments.
