Bio

Rakesh Chaurasia is an Indian flautist born in Allahabad on 10 January 1971. He is recognized for his mastery of the bansuri, a bamboo flute central to Hindustani classical music. He belongs to the Senia Maihar gharana and is the nephew of the renowned flautist Hariprasad Chaurasia, from whom he received much of his training. Chaurasia has performed extensively in India and abroad, collaborating with leading musicians across classical, fusion, and world-music genres.
