Banda El Recodo is a Mexican banda ensemble founded in 1938 in Mazatlán, Sinaloa by clarinetist Cruz Lizárraga. The group helped popularize the banda style throughout Mexico and abroad, blending traditional brass-band instrumentation with modern arrangements of rancheras, corridos, and norteño songs. Over eight decades the band has maintained a core lineup of brass, woodwinds, and percussion while continuously updating its repertoire, making it one of the longest-running and most influential acts in música mexicana.
