Emmanuel Pahud is a Swiss flutist born in Geneva in 1970. He studied at the Paris Conservatoire and quickly established himself as one of the leading flute soloists of his generation. Since 1992 he has served as principal flute of the Berlin Philharmonic, a post he has held continuously for over three decades. Pahud maintains an active solo career, performing concertos and chamber music across the globe. His repertoire spans from the Baroque to contemporary works, and he has recorded extensively for Warner Classics, including complete cycles of the major flute concertos and numerous recital discs. He is also a founding member of the Swiss Chamber Concerts series and a professor at the Geneva University of Music.
