LCD Soundsystem is an American rock band formed in New York City in 2001 by musician James Murphy. The group blends elements of dance music, punk, and indie rock, and became known for its energetic live shows and danceable grooves. After releasing three studio albums, the band disbanded in 2011 but reunited in 2015 and has continued to perform and record since.
