Bio

The Cover Girls are an American freestyle dance-pop group formed in New York City in 1987. The group rose to prominence in the late 1980s and early 1990s with hits such as "Show Me" and "My Heart Skips a Beat," blending Latin freestyle rhythms with pop sensibilities. Originally consisting of members Angel Sabater, Caroline Jackson, and Sunshine Wright, the lineup changed over the years, with new vocalists joining as others departed. Their music was emblematic of the New York freestyle scene, characterized by syncopated beats and emotive vocals. The Cover Girls achieved several top-ten hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and Dance Club Songs charts during their peak years. They remain recognized as one of the key acts that helped popularize freestyle music beyond the New York metropolitan area.
