Bio
Julian Lloyd Webber is an English cellist born in London in 1951. He studied at the Royal College of Music and made his professional debut in 1972, later becoming known for his wide-ranging repertoire that spans Baroque to contemporary works. He has performed as a soloist with major orchestras worldwide and recorded extensively for labels including Philips and Naxos. In addition to his performing career, he has held academic posts and served as Principal of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire from 2015 to 2020.
