Bio
Louis Thomas Hardin, known professionally as Moondog, was an American composer, musician, poet, and inventor born in 1916 in Marysville, Kansas. He lost his sight in his late teens and moved to New York City, where he became a familiar street figure dressed in Viking-inspired attire while performing his compositions on custom instruments. His music blended avant-garde techniques with minimalist structures, drawing from both Western classical traditions and Native American rhythms. Moondog released numerous albums throughout his career and influenced generations of experimental musicians before his death in 1999.
