Bio
Heavy D was an American rapper, singer, and actor who rose to prominence in the late 1980s as the frontman of Heavy D & the Boyz. Known for his smooth delivery and positive lyrical themes, he helped popularize new jack swing with hits such as "Now That We Found Love" and "Nuttin' but Love." Beyond music, he served as a senior vice president at Uptown Records and appeared in films and television shows including "The Cider House Rules" and "Boston Public." Heavy D passed away in 2011 at the age of 44.
