Bio
James Galway is a renowned Northern Irish flautist born in Belfast in 1939. He studied at the Royal College of Music in London and later with Marcel Moyse in Paris, establishing himself as one of the world's leading classical flautists. Galway gained international fame as principal flautist with the London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and Berlin Philharmonic before launching a highly successful solo career. Known for his virtuosic technique and distinctive tone, Galway has recorded extensively across classical, Celtic, and popular genres. He has performed with major orchestras worldwide and collaborated with artists ranging from classical conductors to pop musicians. His recordings have earned multiple awards, and he continues to perform and teach masterclasses globally.
