Manuel de Falla (1876–1946) was a Spanish composer whose music fused Andalusian folk traditions with impressionist and neoclassical techniques. Born in Cádiz, he studied in Madrid and later Paris, where he absorbed influences from Debussy and Ravel before returning to Spain to compose his most celebrated works, including the ballet scores El amor brujo and El sombrero de tres picos. After the Spanish Civil War, Falla settled in Argentina, where he continued composing until his death in 1946. His later output, such as the Harpsichord Concerto, reflects a restrained neoclassical style while retaining the rhythmic vitality and modal color of Spanish folk music.
