Bio
Monkey Black (1986–2014) was a Dominican dembow artist from Los Mina, Santo Domingo. He rose to prominence in the early 2010s with a raw, street-oriented style that helped popularize dembow both locally and abroad. His career was cut short when he was murdered in 2014 at age 28, leaving behind a small but influential catalog that continues to be referenced in Dominican urban music.
