Joan Ambrosio Dalza

Joan Ambrosio Dalza was an Italian lutenist and composer active in the early sixteenth century, known primarily through his publication Intabolatura de lauto libro quarto, printed by Ottaviano Petrucci in Venice in 1508. The collection contains numerous dances, ricercares, and fantasias that illustrate the transition from medieval to Renaissance instrumental styles. Little is known of his life beyond his Milanese origin and his brief documented activity around 1508.
