Bio
Toby Keith (1961–2024) was an American country music singer, songwriter, and guitarist known for his straightforward, patriotic style and baritone voice. Born in Clinton, Oklahoma, he rose to prominence in the 1990s with hits such as “Should’ve Been a Cowboy” and “How Do You Like Me Now?!” and went on to release more than a dozen studio albums, many of which reached the top of the Billboard country charts. Beyond his recordings, Keith was a prominent figure in the country music industry, founding his own label, Show Dog Nashville, and writing or co-writing the majority of his material. His work often reflected themes of American life, military pride, and blue-collar experiences, resonating strongly with audiences after the September 11 attacks and throughout the 2000s.
