Edgar Meyer (born November 24, 1960) is an American bassist and composer known for his work in bluegrass and newgrass music. Born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, he has become one of the most prominent contemporary bassists, recognized for his technical virtuosity and innovative approach to the double bass. Meyer has collaborated with numerous artists across classical, bluegrass, and jazz genres, and his compositions often blend traditional bluegrass elements with classical music structures.
