Bio
Steven Isserlis is a British cellist born in London in 1958. He is known for his performances of both the standard cello repertoire and lesser-known works from the Baroque to the present day. Isserlis has recorded extensively for BIS, Hyperion, and other labels, and he frequently collaborates with leading period-instrument ensembles. He is also active as an author of books for children about music and composers.
