Paul Goodwin

Bio

Paul Goodwin is an English conductor and former oboist, born in Warwick in 1956. He studied oboe at the Royal College of Music and later at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he developed a particular interest in historically informed performance practice. Goodwin began his career as a professional oboist, performing with leading period-instrument ensembles such as the English Concert and the Academy of Ancient Music. In the 1990s he transitioned to conducting, becoming known for his interpretations of Baroque and Classical repertoire. He has held positions including Associate Conductor of the Academy of Ancient Music and has appeared with orchestras across Europe and North America.
