Bio
Zion I was an American hip hop duo formed in Oakland, California in 1996. The group, consisting of producer Amp Live and rapper Zumbi, became known for blending underground hip hop with the hyphy sound that emerged from the Bay Area. Over their career they released several albums and EPs on independent labels, building a dedicated following for their socially conscious lyrics and innovative production. The project ended with Zumbi’s death in 2021.
