Sir Mix-A-Lot is an American rapper and producer born Anthony Ray on August 12, 1963, in Seattle, Washington. He rose to prominence in the late 1980s and early 1990s with his bass-heavy, party-oriented style of hip hop. His 1992 single "Baby Got Back" became a cultural phenomenon, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and earning a Grammy Award for Best Rap Solo Performance. Throughout his career, Sir Mix-A-Lot has remained an influential figure in West Coast hip hop, known for his humorous and often provocative lyrics.
