Bio
Mahan Esfahani is an Iranian-American harpsichordist and early-music specialist born in Tehran and raised in the United States. He studied at Stanford and the Prague Academy of Performing Arts, later winning the inaugural Gilmore International Keyboard Festival prize. Esfahani is known for championing the harpsichord in contemporary concert halls, commissioning new works and performing a wide repertoire from Bach to living composers. His recordings for Hyperion and Deutsche Grammophon have earned Gramophone Awards and critical acclaim for technical brilliance and interpretive depth. He appears regularly with leading orchestras and festivals worldwide and teaches at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
