Bio
Marty Friedman is an American guitarist and composer best known for his tenure as lead guitarist of the heavy metal band Megadeth from 1990 to 2000. Born in Washington, D.C., he developed a distinctive neoclassical style that blends classical technique with rock and metal, showcased on Megadeth albums such as Rust in Peace and Countdown to Extinction. After leaving the band, Friedman relocated to Tokyo, where he has pursued a solo career, released numerous instrumental albums, and become a prominent figure in Japanese media as a television personality and cultural commentator.
