Gloria Estefan is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and businesswoman who rose to fame as the lead vocalist of the Miami Sound Machine. Born in Havana, Cuba, she moved to Miami as a child and later helped popularize Latin-infused pop and dance music in the 1980s and 1990s. Her hits include "Conga," "Rhythm Is Gonna Get You," and the ballad "Don't Wanna Lose You." Beyond music, Estefan has acted in films and on television, authored children's books, and launched successful restaurant and hospitality ventures with her husband, Emilio. She has received numerous Grammy Awards, a Presidential Medal of Freedom, and a Kennedy Center Honor, and is widely recognized for her philanthropy and advocacy for arts education and disaster relief.
