Bio
LFO was an electronic music duo formed in Leeds in 1988 by Mark Bell and Gez Varley. The pair took their name from the low-frequency oscillator, a common synthesizer component, and became known for their influential work in acid house, IDM, and techno. Their debut single "LFO" reached the UK Top 20 in 1990 and helped define the early-90s UK rave sound. The duo released two studio albums, Frequencies (1991) and Advance (1996), before parting ways. Mark Bell later gained wider recognition for his production work with Björk and Depeche Mode. Bell died in 2014.
