Bio
The Johann Strauss Orchestra was founded in 1987 in Maastricht, Netherlands, by violinist and conductor André Rieu. It is a large ensemble dedicated to performing the waltzes, polkas, and operetta music of the Strauss family and other light classical composers. The orchestra has toured extensively worldwide and is known for its theatrical, audience-friendly concerts that blend classical repertoire with popular appeal. Rieu serves as both conductor and soloist, often joined by guest vocalists and dancers.
