Kent Nagano (born November 22, 1951) is an American conductor known for his work across classical, contemporary classical, and operatic repertoire. Born in Berkeley, California, he has held major posts including Music Director of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, the Bavarian State Opera, and the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, and has served as Principal Guest Conductor of the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin.
