Bio

Alan Watts (1915–1973) was an English writer, speaker, and philosopher best known for popularizing Eastern thought in the West. Born in Kent, England, he moved to the United States in 1938 and became a naturalized citizen, later serving as a chaplain and professor at various institutions. His lectures and books, such as "The Way of Zen" and "Psychotherapy East and West," blended Zen Buddhism, Taoism, and Hinduism with Western psychology and philosophy. After his death, many of his talks were released as spoken-word recordings, finding new audiences in electronic and ambient music circles.
