Bio
Bach Collegium Japan is a Japanese ensemble founded in 1990 that specializes in historically informed performances of Baroque music. The group is known for its recordings of the complete sacred cantatas of Johann Sebastian Bach, as well as other major works by Bach, Handel, and Vivaldi. Based in Tokyo, the ensemble performs regularly in Japan and has toured internationally, releasing many of its recordings on the BIS label.
