Franck Pourcel (1913–2000) was a French composer, arranger, and conductor renowned for his lush orchestral interpretations of popular music. Born in Marseille, he studied violin at the Conservatoire de Paris and began his career as a session musician before forming his own orchestra in the early 1950s. Pourcel became a leading figure in the easy-listening genre, releasing dozens of albums that blended classical technique with contemporary hits. His signature sound—rich strings, subtle rhythms, and refined arrangements—earned international success and influenced later generations of orchestral pop producers.
