Elton John

Elton John is an English singer, songwriter, pianist and composer born in Pinner, Middlesex in 1947. He rose to fame in the early 1970s with a string of hits written with lyricist Bernie Taupin, including "Your Song," "Rocket Man" and "Crocodile Rock." Known for his flamboyant stage presence and melodic piano-driven pop-rock, he has released over 30 studio albums and sold more than 300 million records worldwide. His 1997 single "Candle in the Wind 1997" became the best-selling single in UK and US chart history. John has won multiple Grammy Awards, an Academy Award for "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" from The Lion King, and was knighted in 1998. He continues to tour and remains active in philanthropy through the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
