Frank Ocean is an American singer, songwriter, and rapper from New Orleans, Louisiana. He rose to prominence as a member of the hip-hop collective Odd Future before launching a solo career with the mixtape Nostalgia, Ultra in 2011. His debut studio album Channel Orange (2012) earned widespread critical acclaim and a Grammy for Best Urban Contemporary Album. Ocean’s follow-up Blonde (2016) further established his reputation for introspective songwriting and genre-blending production. His work spans alternative R&B, soul, hip-hop, and experimental pop, often exploring themes of love, identity, and memory. Notable collaborators include Tyler, the Creator, André 3000, and James Blake. He founded his own label Boys Don't Cry and maintains a selective release schedule.
